Game Shows To Go produces live game-show events for corporations, colleges and meetings.
To capture live text messaging and blend it into a game show, company owner C.J. Johnson uses VGA2USB LR, a predecessor to Epiphan’s DVI2USB 3.0 and AV.io HD. “I was looking for a way to be able to mix an image of a text messaging board or survey responses with live cameras, recorded video and overlays using VidBlaster on a second computer. VGA2USB LR has provided me with that solution.” Rather than grabbing frames, Johnson is using a live stream from one computer monitor to another computer to mix in images, presentation slides and other programs from one computer to the computer tasked with doing the live mix using VidBlaster.
Epiphan’s frame grabber is the only solution that could get us from a VGA signal on one computer to a USB connection on another computer at 30fps and 1024×768.
“We can now produce with two laptops instead of carrying separate video mixers and input devices,” Johnson explains. “The other solutions we considered did not give us crisp enough text. Epiphan’s frame grabber is the only solution that could get us from a VGA signal on one computer to a USB connection on another computer at 30 fps and 1024×768. Epiphan also provided fast and thorough response to my questions, and the 30 day money back guarantee gave me the confidence to try it.” In fact, both DVI2USB 3.0 and AV.io HD support capture of full 1080p (1920×1080) at 60 frames per second.
